Kate i am so genuinely excited about this podcast! I have fibroids and have been, potentially(?), been treating undiagnosed endo by being on the same bc for the last 21 years (this is a new journey im on with my naturopath), which was originally prescribed to me because of my debilitating cramps and wildly irregular schedule. My sister has pcos, and i feel like 75% of my friends have one of the above, which affect us all in drastically different ways. I can't have enough conversations about this stuff!!! I wish you so much luck on your journey and hope you get answers soon!
Man I'm so sorry you're dealing with all that! and yeah, who even knows if there's such a thing as a "normal" period...but I can't wait to share all the stuff I"m learning about how fucked up our medical system is!!
I keep thinking that the general awakening that seems to be happening around how severely underserved women have been by medical science could not come at a worse time, when the healthcare system itself is so deeply corrupt, so hideously broken, that any progress on anything for anyone seems like a Tolkienesque fantasy.
All that said, it's people like you who move the ball forward. You're awesome, this project is awesome, and I hope you break down ALL THE DOORS and find ALL THE ANSWERS.
It's been so crazy-making doing this research, and suddenly seeing how not-even-under the surface all this is - it's RIGHT THERE and you just have to be willing to see it to see it. We can't control the times we're in, we just gotta do what we can!
