Are We All Peeing Wrong??
A new episode with a pelvic floor physical therapist
Hey Crampers!
New episode out today:
I got to ask pelvic floor physical therapist Dr. Sara Reardon (aka @the.vagina.whisperer) all of my questions:
What IS the “pelvic floor”?
What do pelvic floor muscles have to do with period pain?
What can pelvic floor physical therapy help with?
And I learned a lot of unexpected things:
Pelvic floor physical therapy isn’t just kegels - a lot of people (especially those with severe period pain) actually have pelvic floors that are all tensed up all the time, and need stretching and massage!
We’re all peeing and pooping wrong! Or at least I am!
Your pelvic floor muscles keep the score - even if you get surgery to remove endometriosis or a cyst, pelvic floor muscles could hold on to their tension for YEARS and cause pain with sex, peeing and pooping, or periods!
Dr. Sara is doing incredible work talking about these issues on social media, and she just came out with a book called Floored: A Woman’s Guide To Pelvic Floor Health At Every Age and Stage.

IN OTHER NEWS…
I had an Instagram Reel of my Facts Machine talk about the evolution of menstruation get over 1 MILLION views!!
The biggest impact? HUNDREDS of people commented saying that when I listed the few other species that menstruate, I forgot DOGS. I’m serious, I’ve spent WEEKS fielding comments about DOG PERIODS.
So I made a video to clear that up:
So yeah, long story short, dogs DO NOT menstruate, and I don’t know what I’m even doing any more.
Here’s a couple of my favorite non-dog-period comments:
See you next week for an episode about how to talk about your period pain with your friends!
